Questions
Common questionsabout kraft paper.
What specification do I need to send for sack kraft paper?
The type (natural or white, standard, semi-extensible or extensible, high porosity or not), the grammage, and the key strength values: TEA, tensile strength and stretch, air permeance and Cobb. Add the reel width, diameter and core, the end use and filling method, the quantity and the destination; see how to specify sack kraft paper.
What is the difference between extensible and semi-extensible sack kraft?
Extensible sack kraft stretches more before it breaks, so it has a higher TEA and absorbs drops better, often with fewer plies. In the grades we work with, extensible SKE has a typical TEA index of 3.3 to 3.4 J/g in 2 to 3 plies, against 2.7 to 3.2 J/g in 3 to 4 plies for semi-extensible SKS.
What grammage and reel sizes does sack kraft come in?
The sack kraft grades we work with typically range from 50 to 120 g/m². Standard reel widths are 92 cm and 102 cm (other widths on request), with a reel diameter of 100 to 120 cm and a 76 mm (3 inch) core.
Can you source finished multiwall paper sacks?
Yes, made to the buyer's specification. Valve and open mouth multiwall sacks are produced to your size, 2 to 4 plies, paper grade and weight, valve type, liner and print, as are kraft paper bags for retail, e-commerce and food service.
What does the KIT value mean for greaseproof paper?
The KIT value measures grease resistance: the higher the number, the better the paper resists grease. The greaseproof grades we work with have a typical KIT value of 6 to 8 at 40, 45 and 52 g/m².
