Timber & Wood

Wood products for construction, packaging and manufacturing buyers.

Wood carries tight tolerances on grade, moisture, thickness and finish, and the workable origin often moves with season and freight. We map the requirement against the corridors that can realistically serve it, then narrow to supply able to hold specification at the volume discussed.

Birch plywood

Panels of 100 % birch veneer. Grade is quoted face/back — B/BB, S/BB, BB/CP and so on — and the combination, not the single letter, is what determines price.

Face grades

  • Sanded non-overlaid — general structural and light-weight applications
  • Film-faced — phenolic film 120–220 g/m², edges sealed with water-resistant paint, smooth / wire / hexa texture
  • Formwork grade — improved water resistance, tolerant of low temperature pours
  • Flexible panels — special veneer arrangement, formable on site
  • Fire-retardant — treatment applied to each veneer layer before pressing; cut edges need no further treatment
  • Floor grade — thickness tolerance ±0.2 mm, moisture 6–9 %
  • Coloured and melamine-faced — thirteen film colours
